Major Sewer Improvement Effort

SEI Project: 36th Street/4th Avenue Intersection Closure

36th Street/4th Avenue Intersection July 5, 2017

The contractor is currently installing the new 36 to 42-inch sewer lines along 36th Street. The roadway is currently closed from east of 5th Avenue to 6th Avenue (north and southbound 6th Avenue through traffic is not affected).

In mid-July, the intersection of 4th Avenue and 36th Street, and sections of 36th Street east and west of the intersection will be closed while the contractor continues open trench operations to install the 36-inch sewer line, in addition to completing utility relocations in the 4th Avenue/36th Street intersection. The 4th Avenue/36th Street intersection closure is expected to be in place through early September. Various sections of 36th Street, between 6th Avenue and the UPRR are closed. Cross traffic within the work area is restricted. The contractor will reopen cross streets to through traffic as soon as possible. The contractor will continue open trench operations along 36th Street working toward Euclid Avenue. (see map)
